19th Century Tintype of Porcelain Dolls



My daughters like to take pictures of their favorite dolls and teddy bears. I think it's cute of course and hey, it's a digital camera....they can take as many photos as they want.

Here's a nice tintype that shows the desire of little girls hasn't changed in over 100 years.

This is fun. Makes me wonder why it was taken? Salesman sample? Person just playing with their camera wanting someone to sit perfectly still? Wonder what the photographer was thinking. Really interesting.

Yeah, I really think it must have been a child wanting to forever have a photo of her most precious possessions. I've seen quite a few vintage shots of dolls by themselves, but not one so early or striking as this one.
